I cannot rate this as I had wildly mixed feelings. The motives of those who 'do good' are of 'service', too frequently turn out to proselytize for their belief system. People seem to think their Truth is the only one. Deception, destruction, death.

Superb book read very well. Full of subtle nuances and cultural insights set in the aftermath of a massive earthquake.

what a sad story. very well written. we are given a look at a Muslims family's turmoil after an earthquake. Americans are there to help but memories of his fathers death reminds him Americans made the gun that killed him. A Romeo and Juliet romance with the daughter and American boy. Heartwrenching events affect the daughter and her decisions which ultimately become tragic. a MUST read.
