So helpful for all who love the planet enough to make a change to a nontraditional way of gardening. It is organic but certainly not the "expensive and commercialized" organic way.

You can easily find out an unique way that works in your own place by adopting the simple principals revealed by the author. Then you'll find yourself on an affordable path to achieve partly self-sufficiency.

I had already put this method to work on my property with excellent results. We have 1/2 acre with lots of trees so acquiring leaf mulch is no obstacle. It certainly is much easier than traditionally dug beds and either way you will need some top soil or amendments to build up the beds. The book was well written in a friendly chatty voice that was a pleasure to read. I didn't give it 5 stars because the author has experience with this in only one location. Some of the information about pests won't work around here and as the author didn't have the same problems I did, they weren't even hinted at. One of the worst was having the newspaper under leaf mulch in a large area completely dug up by a raccoon for one night (looking for the abundant earth worms) - a real mess to restore. The same critter dug up mulch paths later in the season but they were easy to restore. I think still think Lasagna Gardening is a good way to expand, augment or create new beds.
