Alderman Broatch of Calgary in Speech Here Advises Miners Not to StrikeBook
When advising the miners not to strike, Alderman Broatch gave as his reason that they in doing so would be up against two combinations, that of the International and the capitalist. It was for the miners to do away with one of these at least if they were to succeed. This, he held could be attained by means of the O.B.U. of which he was a strong exponent.
