The idea is cool, but it felt like I was reading the back description all over again, over the span of the entire book. I wish I could dive into it but I got bored of it quickly. The artwork is amazing however.

I read a lot of different genres, but if there's one thing that most people who know my reading habits know is that I absolutely am a sucker for stories that have different deities.

As soon as I saw this at my local library, I knew I had to read it, and I may be totally biased but I absolutely loved it. I loved that there were so many different kind of deities from different pantheons, instead of the usual Greek or even Egyptians.

They have Baal! Hardly no one ever mentions Baal!

That said, the story was a little weird, but maybe because it was just starting and the world will be built more and more as the stories continue. The art alone is worth it though because that's some beautiful artwork.

Moar moar moar!

Every ninety years, the gods return to Earth in human form. They live fast, glamorous lives, and are dead within two years. This time, though, things go very wrong as one of the gods (Lucifer) is accused of murder. Kind of a cross between Neil Gaiman's American Gods and the movie Almost Famous, with lots of great twists and turns.

I tried to make some sense of what the characters were talking about, but I quickly lost interest in the so-called "story. The artwork was great though, so the single star that I am giving it goes to that and to that alone.

The gods show up in flashbang human form every 90 years to inspire humanity. They rock, they roll, and two years later, they die. Rinse and repeat.

This time, however, something's not right. There's somebody insidious in the mix and trouble it is a-brewin'.

If you are a fan of: graphic novels, David Bowie, or mythology, give this one a try. Plus, the cover is very cool and quite the conversation starter (from personal experience).

This is an interesting take on Gods and mythology in a modern setting. I like that when the Gods return everyone knows about them and you have, essentially, two camps: those that follow and worship them (in the same light that people worship celebrities); and those that question if they are actually who they say they are. It creates interesting discussion on how we as a society would act and react in the same situation. I also enjoyed that the pantheon is heavily diverse. Going in I was expecting Greek and Norse deities, aka "the usual." Instead there seems to be more gods from the myths of cultures I've never heard of. Admittedly, this makes it both very intriguing and frustrating (since I don't know what to expect from them). The artwork is phenomenal and I can't wait to continue with the series.

This is definitely an interesting concept. The gods are in constant rotation, very 90 years they are returned and given a few short years to play out their lives. They have a certain pop star like fame amongst the humans. The main story follows a girl who aspires to that power and fame, and Lucifer, who she is trying to get it from. The story is interesting, but it moved a bit slow (to be fair there was a lot to introduce). The art though is brilliant. The characters, the colors, its all great. Excited to see where they go in volume 2. (as a side note its not for those who would be offended by a large dose of adult language).

A pantheon of gods return every 90 years. Now is that time.

Amazing art depicts a varied realm of gods re-incarnated every ninety years for only 2 years before they die. Or sooner. Only certain teens are chosen, purposes as yet unknown, as this first book is mainly an introduction to the whole concept. One teen, Laura is especially drawn to David Bowie look-alike Luci--short for Lucifer, and it is through Laura's eyes that the story thread continues. Edgy, sinister, violent and erotic.
