"Okay, let's roll."
-Todd Beamer, from Flight 93

"Before anyone had time to think, the stairway echoed with a frightening series of incredibly loud and rapid booms. Bang ... Bang ... Bang ... Bang ... Bang ... They were experiencing a noise that nobody had ever heard before this day - the sound of a 110-story building falling down.
The floors were collapsing in pancake fashion. One floor would fall onto the next floor, which would give way onto the floor below, and so on all the way down. With each awful bang, everyone was thrown around the landing and steps as the compressive force from the collapsing floors above shoved air down the stairwell.
The sound grew louder and faster as the falling floors came closer and closer. Mixed into the din were the screeches of massive steel beams and girders twisting and bending. The earsplitting noise was like a hundred trains hitting their brakes at the same time, only more shrill."
- From the story of Captain Jay Jonas

"All the real heroes died that day. The rest of us just did what we could."

I teared-up a few times. Heartbreaking. God Bless those heroes of 9/11; civilians, Firefighters, paramedics, police officers, etc. who died heroically that day, as well as those who survived to remember that day always.
