I was challenged by this book quite a bit. If you took the comic talents of two Florida-centered humorists: say Hiaasen and Barry and spliced them together with maybe Nietzsche and Mel Brooks, you'd have some idea of the author's take on Florida condos, Russian Jewish immigrants who've retired there, innate corruption, early bird dining, fascism, "Donal'd Tramp" and other oddities. It's an elegy filled with stupid puns, bellylaughs, and serious philosophy voiced by the Americanized adult son of a Russian Jewish refusenick/rebel; sure is better than killing your mind with Patterson crud and/or romance novels.
