This book is one of my top favorites, and that's saying a lot! I think that Celestine and Carrick's communication through silence gave the story the flawless edge that it needed. I like Carrick, his effect on Celestine is basically Katniss choosing Gale instead of Peeta. "Flawed" gives me hope for the future of Young Adult Dystopian. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wishes to step out of our world and enter a new, fast-paced one.

I would call this book somewhat of a psychological thriller, as it makes you think about our own character flaws and how society views imperfections. The main character is a teenage girl named Celestine, who, under pressure from the society in which she lives, tries to be perfect in every sense. The book deals with the frank truths in a fictional world where those who are Flawed are treated as inferior. The Guild is a branch of government that perpetuates that segregation. What happens to Celestine and her perfect world can be a lesson for all of us. This book tugs your emotions around in multiple directions.

A unique dsytopian in which people who have committed acts deemed to be ethically unsound are branded with an "F" to indicate that they are fundamentally "flawed," and relegated to life as second-class citizens with restrictions governing everything from their meals to their interactions with other people. This book is very clearly part one of the story--the ending is not unsatisfying, but it does not at all resolve things--so readers who care about the characters will be compelled to read the sequel to find out what happens.

Loved this book sooo much. I give it 5 stars. Dystopian but without the normal rebellious attitude that the main characters normally have. This novel was written beautifully. A good book for the logical people out there. Can't wait for the sequel, Perfect!

Take You Are Special by Max Lucado and put it on steroids and you get a world where the desire to be perfect supercedes all because to be flawed can ruin your life and leave you marked for all the world to see. When teenager Celestine North is judged to be the most flawed person in history, receiving more brands than ever before, she unwittingly becomes a player in a high stakes game of power and the future of society. Ahern challenges the reader to consider the dark forces that may lay just beneath the systems that make our world go around.

This compelling, gripping book takes place in a society in which science has advanced to a certain degree that people can make themselves physically perfect. The concept of being flawed, physically and socially, is a big deal. There are all kinds of interesting factors to this story: the society; the rules; what happens when you break those rules; and Celestine herself, whose mind is always fascinating (if regularly frustrating). It's a quick, easy read, but only the first in the duology has been published so far. Be prepared to be unsatisfied!

EXCELLENT book. Very gripping, I could not put it down from about the 3rd chapter. I think my heart was pounding throughout the book after that. Loved the book! Cant wait to read the second part.......

Great book! It made me think, which is always a good thing. Branding a criminal is bad but in Celestine's world it's even worse! The Flawed have to follow certain rules and they have a Whistleblower who enforces the rules. There is no real system of checks and balances and one in power gets carried away.
