The lack of plot progression makes for a very boring read. There is minimal character development, and the whole story revolves around sex with little meaning.

I really had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, the book was mostly just sex. I'm not sure how much help teens struggling with sexuality will be helped by a book that doesn't dig much deeper into the actual issue of sexuality. Disappointed. Also, definitely not suitable for younger teens.

The main problem with this book can be summed up in two words - Will Caynes. Mesrobian does make me feel some compassion for this kid - I mean, we've all been young and terrible at relationships - but OMG, he's so annoying. He's passive, never makes his own decisions, and seems unable to appreciate how his actions hurt the people around him. Add a plot that goes nowhere, and that's the book. Ugh!

I so wanted to like this book. The premise is great. But I just could not connect with Will. I thought he was selfish and continually made bad choices. It also felt like a series of bad things without any resolution. It just eventually stopped but there wasn't a denouement.

This book was great for all of the experiences that the main character has to navigate, but it was even better for everything that went unsaid. Will candidly acknowledges his feelings, but he can't seem to find an identity that fits them, which leaves him feeling isolated. This story made me thankful for the ever-broadening span of identities that are being written into modern YA literature.
