This book was AMAZING. It took a long time to get, but it was totally worth it. I can't wait for the last book. And for ct7825555, the order of the books should be Contact Harvest, Cole Protocol (Cole Protocol is set around the year 2535) Fall of Reach, The Flood, First Strike, Ghosts of Onyx, Glasslands, The Thursday War, and the last book is not released yet. If you want to read the Forerunner Saga, go by Cryptum, Primordium, and Silentium.

This was a really good book. I don't know what the order of the books is but I read Contact Harvest, then The Fall of Reach, and after that I read the Flood and Ghosts of Onyx. I think that's the order but I'm not sure. They were all very good and I'd recommend them. But read Glasslands last to make the most of it all. I would also recommend the order which I have listed. One thing about this book is that they leave you hanging but I guess they do that for the sake of it leading into Halo 4.

True, but hey, maybe the Brutes have some crazy motive. o3o

I looked forward to Traviss joining the Halo series but I found this first entry to be a mixed bag. The characters are well-done but the plot isn't the greatest. Then again it's tough working in the confines of series fiction.

This book has not received very favorable ratings from Amazon, but I thought it was a good sequel to Ghosts of Onyx. This is basically the first narrative to go beyond the events of Halo 3. The book ends in a cliffhanger, but I wasn't too displeased with that since it is likely the story will be continued in Halo 4.

Hands down, THE best Halo novel yet. Karen Travis builds upon Eric Nylunds Ghosts of Onyx. Deep and compelling characterizations, combined with shocking revelations that will keep the most rabid Halo fans with their jaws on the floor. Not to mention a healthy dose of Red vs Blue references and a great set up for future books or games. Karen Traviss is at the top of her game and proves that she is the right person for writing the Halo movie. Or the next book. Or the next game. No, Travis should be a permanent writer for everything Halo.
