A superb history of the first six months of the naval war in the Pacific at the start of WW2 from America's point of view. Wonderful edge of seat writing combined with excellent scholarship. I kept listening for the dramatic and patriotic music and even though I knew what was coming, I still read with anticipation. Highly recommended!
This is a really excellent history. You don't have to be a naval expert or WW2 fanatic to appreciate this book. Very readable, very detailed, very human. War is hell.
Outstanding writing, storytelling, analysis. Looking forward to next book in series. Unfortunately some jerk has defaced the book with underlines and inane comments.
so far amazing
